With hundreds of kilometers of network, tens of thousands of customers and multiple segments (residential, commercial, industrial and vehicle), the lack of integration between areas generated rework, difficulties in anticipating scenarios and limited the ability to respond quickly to changes in supply or demand. In an environment where safety, service continuity and efficiency are critical, relying on isolated spreadsheets and calculations jeopardized strategic and operational decision-making.

Objectives: from fragmentation to integrated flow

Necta recognized the need to transform its planning process to align its operation with efficiency, accuracy and scalability objectives. It was essential to move from a reactive structure to one that would allow us to anticipate future scenarios, coordinate strategy and execution, and share a consolidated view of demand, supply and operation.

The processes that needed to be integrated included planning the balance between demand and supply of gas, adjusting supplies based on market and operating conditions, and evaluating infrastructure availability. To achieve this, an approach was needed that would unite S&OP (integrated business planning) with S&OE (operational execution), supported by agile, flexible and automated models.

The implementation of Pyplan allowed Necta to build a unified planning platform where demand, supply, inventory and operations data converged into a coherent and scalable model.
